A beautiful three storey, five bedroom Victorian farm house, in a Conservation area, was extensively refurbished and extended into a fresh contemporary home complete with zinc clad wrap around extension forming open plan living area for the modern family within. 

The project involved removing two large structural walls, effectively the corner of the house, to create the large open plan living space opening into a private lawned garden.  From inception we sought to replace the existing dark, cramped entrance into a light, spatial event.  We achieved this by redesigning the entire vertical circulation core, centring it within a new triple height light well and by improving visual connections between each of the spaces through high voids and transparent screens.
